Project Overview

This project seeks to offer crucial Thanksgiving support to approximately 48 families served by Margie's House, a Fairburn, Georgia-based nonprofit assisting women and children in transition. Our goal is to ensure these families enjoy a nutritious and joyful holiday meal by donating 8 turkeys and 8 hams, and $1,200 in financial support for 48 families.

Project Team

Team Member Name Responsibilities
Project Chair: Rashida Kirton Oversees coordination, timeline, committee communications, and prepare the Impact summary for submission.
Fundraising Coordinator: Alesha Mosley Jiggetts Receives the donations from each Aspirant sister, tracks contributions, maintains receipts, and records each contribution to be disbursed to Margie's House on behalf of Zeta Phi Beta, Incorporated, Kappa Iota Zeta Chapter.
Logistics Coordinator & Outreach: Marquetta Hemphill and Dr. Bonita Senior-Farmer Manages the donations of the turkeys, hams, adheres to the volunteer schedule, and manages communication with the project team and volunteers.
Community Liaison: Pepper Forman Confirms needs and delivery logistics with Margie's House.
Marketing & Media Lead: Akilah Davis Plans group photo, thank-you notes, and social media highlights.
Historian & Documentation (all) Compile photos, documentation, and record details for final reporting.

Objectives

To deliver a complete holiday meal package, including two traditional protein items, to Margie's house, in support of families in need.

To demonstrate the principles of sisterhood, service, and social impact through collective giving.

To foster a sense of community care & support among Margie's House families during Thanksgiving.

Volunteer Timeline

Volunteer Day: Monday, November 17th, 2025 | Time: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Volunteers will assist with organizing, distributing food and funds, and reporting to ensure a smooth operation.

Key Schedule Points

Wednesday, November 12th, 6:15 PM – 7:00 PM: Meet with team members to gather donated items from Aspirant sisters and take a photo.
Monday, November 17th, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Group picture and distribution of turkeys, hams, and funds to Margie's House.

Project costs will be covered by in-kind donations and contributions from the Aspirant Sisters. Each Aspirant Sister in the service group project will contribute $100, totaling $600, which will be directly allocated to Margie's House, Inc. families. Additionally, the Aspirant Sisters Service Project group will obtain a company match of $600, bringing the total monetary contributions to $1,200.00.

Funding Source

Each Aspirant project group collectively will contribute 4 hams and 4 turkeys by Wednesday, November 12th, 2025. The service project team will contribute $600 and obtain a matching donation, bringing total donation to $1,200.

Expected Impact

To enhance community connections and provide holiday food security for vulnerable families by supplying 48 families with essential resources for their Thanksgiving celebrations.

To boost volunteer participation and raise Margie's House's profile within the community
